Day 2 – Great Cressingham to Great Bircham

25.1 miles (a few too many for day 2)

Another damp start and colder than yesterday, but by the time I’d stuck camp and got everything together I’d warmed up.

I had 1.5miles to get back to the trail.. shortly after that I passed through North Pickenham, lots of locals walking their dogs. I managed to resist the McDonalds on the trail shortly after that.

I stopped for a break at Castle Acre (once visited by King John, I think) From here it’s just a long straight road/green lane to Great Bircham – the only highlight being the trig point on Massingham Heath (92m) – the highest point on the Peddar’s Way
