Day 8 – Horsey Gap to Hopton-on-Sea

19.6miles
Today started from the very hospitable ‘Nelson Head’ pub, who let me camp in their beer garden . I’d been tipped off about the seals in the area so first visited the beach to watch them bask in the early morning drizzle….you can probably walk the whole day today on the beach, (and I did most of the day) but omg you don’t get full value for each stride, it’s so knackering.
At about halfway I passed through “Notsogreat Yarmouth” (a kinda downmarket Blackpool).. I didn’t take many photos … then it was on to the more industrial shipping part of town that links it to Gorleston-on-sea…(the name comes from the mouth of the River Yare) I’m sure you knew that
After a few more miles dodging the groynes and various sea defences on the beach you eventually reach Hopton-on-Sea (the end of the NCP)… then it was onto the nearest pub to get the beers in and let the bubbles flow ![]()
